The museum opened in 2022 and houses some of the most unique dulcimers that have been made. Many vintage folk instruments can be seen here including a hurdy gurdy, a washtub bass, a courting dulcimer, and a hammered dulcimer made and played by Sam Rizzetta. The oldest instrument we have is a mountain dulcimer from around 1900.
Experience the ingenuity and creativity of Amercian musicians and instrument makers through our collection.
The museum is open the last Sunday of the month from 3-5pm (except for holidays).
The museum is home to a collection of instruments that once belonged to Kevin Roth. Back in the 70s, Kevin Roth studied with Peter, Paul and Mary. He later wrote and sang the theme song to Shining Time Station (Thomas the Tank Engine) from 1989-1997. He has recorded over 60 albums.
One of our featured collections is comprised of instruments donated by Bing Futch. Bing Futch is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Orlando, Florida. Bing has composed and produced sound tracks for theater, television, and themed attractions. In 2016, Bing won Best Solo Guitar at the International Blues Challenge, despite competing only on the mountain dulcimer.
